The Northeast Florida Regional Council recently partnered with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department, the The Chlorine Institute, and TRANSCAER to support a 3-day Chlorine Emergency Response Training designed to strengthen hazardous materials response capabilities across Northeast Florida.

The hands-on training brought together emergency responders, regional partners, and local leadership to enhance coordination and preparedness for complex hazardous materials incidents. Trainings like these are critical to ensuring response teams have the knowledge, resources, and real-world experience needed to protect communities during high-risk emergencies.

As part of the training, participants engaged in practical response scenarios focused on chlorine-related incidents, helping reinforce regional collaboration and readiness among agencies that may respond together during an emergency.
