The Northeast Florida Regional Council (NEFRC) has been selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to begin negotiations for a $1.5 million Brownfields Assessment Coalition Grant. The four-year grant, awarded through EPA's Brownfields Program, will support environmental site assessments and redevelopment planning in partnership with Nassau County and the City of Palatka.
The grant will help identify redevelopment opportunities, engage local communities, and prepare underutilized properties for future investment—creating a pathway for economic growth while protecting public health and the environment.
This selection reflects NEFRC's continued commitment to regional collaboration and providing technical assistance that helps communities unlock new opportunities for revitalization.
